One of the biggest blockages to getting started is knowing where to start. I’ve run into a number of people who have stalled for years, declaring “I don’t know how” as if that’s the end of the story.
I usually answer it like this:
It’s like a circle, anywhere you start is the beginning.

Because it’s all one giant cycle, it’s OK if it doesn’t work out right the first time. In fact, practically everyone who’s ever excelled at something started out doing it wrong. Mistakes are a part of growth, especially when you commit to improve “next time.”
Do you can start with DARE and just ask yourself “What do I want?” Make the list as long as you want, until you run out of ideas. Then go back and pick your top 3… or group them into some sort of theme. Just make sure that it’s something you really, really, really want.
Is that too general for your tastes? Then start with BEST. What do you want for your body? Lose weight? Gain muscle? Eat right? Heal? Whatever it is, you probably already know it (you’ve probably been complaining about it to your friends for years, or ignoring when you doctor tells you to do something again and again).
Or if you want to go on ignoring that part, move on to Emotions, or Spirit. Even if your answer is “to be happy” or “not be so depressed” it’s a start. I know it can be intimidating and overwhelming, especially with something so vague, but writing it down is the first step to figuring it out.
So, in general, there is no BEST way of going about this, you just have to DARE to do it.
